Question 1

What furniture comes with a Durham apartment?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the unit. Some may have just a bed, dresser, and sofa, while others include a TV, kitchen appliances, curtains, dishes, and linens. Ask the landlord exactly what you'll get when you move in.

Question 2

Are furnished apartments good for short-term stays?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Short-term rentals often include furnished units, perfect for college students, business travelers, or anyone needing temporary housing. They offer flexibility without the commitment of moving your own furniture.

Question 3

Will my belongings fit alongside the furniture?

Accepted Answer

Consider all the things you own and how much space you'll need. If you have existing furniture, you might not keep it all in your furnished apartment, or you may need to pay for storage.

Question 4

What lease terms should I expect?

Accepted Answer

Furnished apartments are often advertised for short-term stays. Before you agree to anything, find out the exact lease terms, security deposit, and monthly rent to avoid surprises.

Question 5

Can I decorate a furnished apartment?

Accepted Answer

There's not much you can do to decorate since the furniture is already there. Before signing a contract, ask what changes you're allowed to make to the space.

Question 6

Am I responsible for furniture damage?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You're responsible for the furniture in a furnished apartment. If something gets broken, you may have to pay for it. Be extra careful with the furnishings.
